Fair Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-16

Purpose and Scope

This Fair Use Policy protects the quality, reliability, and availability of HeedLab for everyone. It complements our Terms of Service and applies to all accounts and workspaces regardless of plan, including use of the dashboard, public boards, embeddable widget, and API.

Usage Limits

  • API requests are subject to per-minute and per-day rate limits communicated in the developer documentation.
  • File and image uploads are limited by plan tier (size per upload and monthly storage quota).
  • The number of boards, posts, and team members is governed by plan limits shown on the pricing page.
  • Automated ingestion of large volumes of feedback must be conducted via our API, not by scraping the UI.

Prohibited Behaviours

  • Using HeedLab to artificially inflate vote counts or manipulate feedback rankings.
  • Running bots or scripts that generate synthetic user activity.
  • Deliberately consuming excessive server resources (e.g. sending thousands of requests per second).
  • Using a single account to serve multiple unrelated organisations in a way that circumvents per-seat pricing.

Anti-Abuse Measures

We monitor for patterns that suggest abuse. Accounts or IP addresses that trigger our abuse detection may be rate-limited, warned, or suspended without prior notice depending on severity.

Rate Limits

If you anticipate unusually high traffic (e.g. a product launch or a large import), please contact us in advance at sdx-support@protonmail.com so we can accommodate your needs.

Suspension and Termination

Violations of this policy may result in temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account, as set out in our Terms of Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action unless the violation is severe, ongoing, or poses a risk to the service or other users.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The current version is always available on this page.
